Fiber Internet in Amsterdam Zuid

Last updated:

Network: KPN Dominant

From the historic buildings in Oud-Zuid and the activity in De Pijp, to the modern towers on the Zuidas: the Zuid district is highly diverse. This diversity is reflected in how internet providers have deployed their fiber networks here.

The Zuidas vs. De Pijp and Oud-Zuid

The Zuidas is the business heart of the Netherlands. High-end, business fiber connections have been in place here for years. For residents of the surrounding apartment complexes, this infrastructure has now also been made available for consumers, with high speeds via companies like KPN.

In De Pijp and Oud-Zuid, the situation is different. Here, contractors from KPN Netwerk and Open Dutch Fiber (ODF) have had to open up streets individually in recent years. Due to the historical value, density, and lack of space on the sidewalks, the rollout sometimes proceeded at a slower pace. However, a very large part of Zuid has now been successfully connected to the fiber network.

Multi-story Buildings and HOAs in Zuid

Because Zuid has many private apartments, Homeowners' Associations (HOAs) play a key role here. If the cable is in the street, but your HOA in Oud-Zuid has never officially given approval to run the cables neatly through the stairwell (the rising mains), the connection will end in the shared basement. It is therefore essential that HOAs cooperate with these free activities.

Do you live in a building with downstairs neighbors? In Amsterdam Zuid (like De Pijp), connections are often located in shared meter cupboards or riser pipes. Is the downstairs neighbor not cooperating with the installation? Read here what your rights are and download our template letters.

The Total 1st year price is calculated over a 12-month period (including any one-off installation costs and welcome discounts). This provides the most transparent overview of your actual costs per provider, separate from temporary "promotional prices".
