Network: Mixed (KPN & ODF)The Nieuw-West district (including Osdorp, Slotervaart, Slotermeer, and Geuzenveld) is one of the largest districts in Amsterdam by area. Its spacious layout and the many post-war apartment buildings make Nieuw-West a suitable area for fiber internet expansion.
Because streets and sidewalks in Nieuw-West are generally wider than in the city center, excavation teams from network operators could work efficiently. This has resulted in a high coverage rate.
Both KPN Netwerk and Open Dutch Fiber (ODF) are active here. In many neighborhoods, both networks are available, which leads to competition among providers. Odido often offers competitive rates via the ODF network, while KPN offers services on its own network.
A large part of the housing in Nieuw-West is owned by housing associations (such as Eigen Haard and Rochdale). Unlike small private homeowners' associations, these large organizations have generally made central agreements with network operators at an early stage. As a result, the installation up to the meter cupboard in high-rise complexes usually proceeds without issues, provided residents grant contractors access to their homes.
Because the fiber network varies by neighborhood, you can find the current prices of the providers that are active in your specific postal code area here.
